Welcome to our Battle of Puebla website.

Cinco de Mayo (May 5th)  is on a Saturday in 2012. Here are some of the events we’re planning:

  • Friday night, May 4: Cocktail Reception, Horse-drawn Carriage Rides to the Ballroom, and an 1860’s style dinner dance staged as a Military Ball.
  • Saturday, May 5: Reenactment of the Battle of Puebla at Camp Mabry, the Texas National Guard post in Austin, at 2:00 PM. Living History Campsites. Vendors with refreshments and souvenirs.
  • Sunday, May 6: Reenactment at 1:00 PM. Living History Campsites. Vendors with refreshments and souvenirs.

Battle Of Puebla has been approved by the IRS for non-profit status.

Want to donate? Email us and ask how.

This is a “must see” event.  It may even be the first Battle of Puebla reenactment
ever held in the United States.  Bring your cameras and videocams.

Interested units should contact our Re-enactment Commandant, Chuck Young, for information on how to apply and qualify for participation.

Chuck Young has 39 years of re-enactment experience, including service in several re-enactors’ associations. Mr. Young has held office as president of non-profit corporations and living history associations.  He has been in charge of numerous historical re-enactments, and has participated in such events throughout the U.S. as well as in Europe and the Caribbean.

Major Juliette Ritzman served as an army helicopter pilot for more than twenty years, and as a logistics officer before retiring from the Air Force Reserve in 2007. She has degrees in History and in Equine Administration. She owns horses, and is a member and veteran competitor in the U.S. Cavalry Association.
